swampyankee (COPD, depression)
Our friend, swampyankee, has been in the choke hold of an abiding grief for a long time now. Widowed twice, her heart has simply not recovered from the death of her last husband, Lou.
She misses him every waking minute of every day. This, combined with the privations of a limited income, and serious health conditions of her own (notably COPD), has left her so blue she can barely get out of bed some days. She misses not being able to work anymore, too, because she really enjoyed her job. Now, her life is more isolated than is good for her — the bright spots being the love of her cat, Moses, and her interactions here on Daily Kos.
